The Cornell Institute for Digital Agriculture (CIDA) is a dynamic ecosystem of scholars, teachers, and practitioners seeking to drive agriculture innovation and tackle social, economic, policy, and environmental challenges at scale. Huck had the extraordinary opportunity to partner with the Institute on a new website and a series of videos that highlight the ground-breaking research of their faculty and thought leaders.

How it started
The Executive Director of CIDA approached Huck with a clear directive—to tell the CIDA story better, bolder, and on par with the innovation taking place here every day.
While their branding was somewhat recently refreshed, the website itself was in dire need of a new design and significantly more content, including a searchable project database and a directory of experts and collaborators.
The design and functionality of the new site marries a technology-inspired feel with images that reflect the natural beauty of farming. The site also features clear and concise messaging that speaks to the global reach of this world-renowned institute.
The new site showcases innovative projects ranging from aquaculture and automation to computational modeling and machine learning—advancements that are essential to providing equitable, sustainable, and efficient solutions to food supply, labor, and environmental challenges.
Our crew also spent three days in Ithaca filming thought leaders, touring vineyards, and flying drones to capture the sights, sounds, and cutting-edge innovation happening on campus and surrounding farms. This collaboration was one of our most inspiring projects of 2022, and we have a whole new outlook on the future of food as a result.
Subsequent to the launch of the site, CIDA asked us to design their annual report. The print collateral mirrors the look and feel of the site while providing content most relevant to partners, funders, and stakeholders.
I can’t say enough good things about your team. Not only does our institute now have a modern, clean, wonderful website that celebrates the cutting-edge and fascinating digital agriculture research that our CIDA researchers are doing, you also completed for us in record short time a super-looking annual report that we can distribute to stakeholders far and wide. Looking forward to working with you folks more in the future and hope to invite you back to Ithaca soon!”
Diane Bailey, Executive Director of CIDA
Behind the scenes
Our work with CIDA included several days on site with our crew as well of weeks of preparatory storyboarding and post-production work. It was important for us to step foot on the farms and into the labs and greenhouses to meet the thought leaders behind this important work and to help them tell their unique stories on camera.
